Websites Honored With Design Awards

Design awards from W3 and Web Excellence and more for Webworks clients

“Over the years we’ve focused on providing our clients with award-winning web designs,” notes Tom Lovering, the Portland Webworks/GovWebworks Director of Business Development. “We’re glad to continue the tradition with four new design awards.”

In 2023, two GovWebworks clients received design recognition from the W3 Awards and Web Excellence Awards. The Maine Department of Education’s Learn with Moose education platform and Colorado Department of Natural Resources’ Colorado Avalanche Information Center snow conditions portal each received both awards.

These awards are evidence of the dedicated work of these esteemed clients in partnership with our Creative team. Lead by Sarah Crossman, Director of User Experience, our team is made up of the following members:

Graphic Design:

  • Peter Clark, User Interface Designer
  • Hunter McPeak, User Interface Designer

User Experience:

  • Brett Kana, User Experience Designer
  • Tracy Totman, User Experience Designer

The Colorado Avalanche Information Center (CAIC) is a program within the Colorado Department of Natural Resources, Executive Director’s Office. The program is a partnership between the Department of Natural Resources (DNR), Department of Transportation (CDOT), and the Friends of the CAIC (FoCAIC) a 501c3 group. The mission of the CAIC is to provide avalanche information, education and promote research for the protection of life, property and the enhancement of the state’s economy.

Maine Department of Education’s Learn with Moose platform was created in partnership with Maine DOE. The Maine Online Open-Source Education (MOOSE) project is funded entirely (100%) through Federal money under the Coronavirus Response and Relief Supplemental Appropriations Act (CRRSA) and American Rescue Plan (ARP).

The W3 Awards

The W3 Awards recognize the best websites produced by large and small firms, Fortune 500 companies, and international agencies. Sanctioned and judged by the invitation-only board of the Academy of Interactive and Visual Arts, the awards are esteemed in the design industry and beyond.

Both the Maine Department of Education’s Learn with Moose education platform and the Colorado Avalanche Information Center snow conditions portal managed by the Colorado Department of Natural Resources, received Silver W3 Awards in 2023.
